Christy and Dave had such a fun, perfect wedding at the Smithville Inn in historic Smithville, NJ. It was my second time returning to this great venue, and it's always a good time. The day started with the guys and girls getting ready, the girls at the Barn and the guys at the Wolf Suite. These two are so relaxed and easy going, so things went smoothly all day and we shared lots of laughs with their hilarious bridal party.
I loved the "mint to be" light but rustic details incorporated into the decor in the Inn, and Christy crafted most of it herself. Their son Ayden, who I adore, walked down the aisle with a special sign (photo down below) that was a surprise for Dave. It was so cute to see that he was so excited to keep this little secret from him as he showed it to me at our pre-wedding meeting while Dave was in the other room. This pair has a lot of loving family and friends, who were a blast to party with all night too!
I hope you all enjoy this little preview from their big wedding day. Thanks to all of the guests and the amazing vendors who helped make it so great!
Christy & Dave's Love Story (told by Christy):
Our “love story” began in 2010. My mom’s neighbor (Dave’s friend) decided he wanted to hook me up with his friend Dave. I kept hearing about this “Dave” and what a good guy he was, but our paths never seemed to cross. I seriously thought he was made up! Finally, one night in February we met at the neighbor’s house…we had some pizza…we had some drinks and the rest was history. Over the past few years our relationship as a couple and a family has grown into something so “right” and natural. We’ve had some curveballs thrown our way…but our relationship has only gotten stronger knowing that we have each other!
On the night before Thanksgiving in 2013, I became the luckiest girl in the world when Dave asked me to marry him! Dave and Ayden were making crayons in the kitchen while I was being lazy on the couch! Dave yelled into the living room that they made the “perfect” crayon. When I walked into the kitchen, Dave was down on his knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” I thought it was a dream!! It was my dream that came true!
On June 27, 2014 I became Mrs. Cottrell!! It was the most beautiful day in Smithville! I was so excited to be surrounded by all of our friends and family. Our ceremony and reception were absolutely perfect and I loved that our son was able to share in our special day! Life is good.
