When I received the website inquiry from Jennifer about photographing her family of 14 while they were on their annual vacation on Long Beach Island, I was excited and nervous at the same time. 14 people would be the biggest group I've done a portrait session with so I was imagining a hectic hour or so one upcoming summer evening. I charge an added fee for groups over 5 for that reason. A few days before their scheduled session, she added 4 more people to the group, so you could imagine my thoughts then!
Come the evening of their sunset beach session, I was so relieved to find out they were such a pleasant group! Seriously, one of the easiest groups I've worked with to date! And not only were they so great, but they arrived dressed to the nine's... no help needed! Each little family within the group was so beautiful and coordinated, I swear they all belong in a magazine.
After spending some time shooting along the ocean, we crossed Long Beach Boulevard to a great spot on the Barnegat Bay with the perfect sunset view. With this family now being spread out in cities across the country, I'm so glad they were all able to be together for a few days so that they could capture some family photos they can treasure forever. Enjoy some of my favorite images from my time with this great big family!
