I got to work with Cake Stand Bakery for Nic and Lauren's wedding at the Camden County Boathouse last year, and they sure delivered a stunning cake! It was shabby chic with fondant leaves and twigs wrapped around the smooth top layer, all in white. The couple picked a simple wine-themed cake topper to sit atop their beautiful cake, as shown in the photo below. I look forward to seeing what the team at Cake Stand Bakery delivers the next time we get to work together!
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT CAKE STAND BAKERY...
How did you get started in the baking industry?
Cake Stand Bakery in Voorhees is owned by Holly Aducat. She is a self-taught baker who has studied art and design. Holly has entered the world of flour, sugar, and butter dedicated to producing charming, modern, and whimsical creations.
What sets your company apart from other wedding cake designers in the industry?
Cake Stand Bakery is a small bakery which prides itself on catering to a bride's every wish. Our cakes are custom made in small batches from scratch on premises with high quality ingredients. The owner is involved in every aspect of each dessert made fresh daily. Our qualified staff is ready to assist you in creating a custom order.
What do you enjoy most about working on wedding desserts?
The most rewarding aspect of working on wedding desserts is being a part of the couple's special day. The wedding cake is an important traditional aspect of a wedding. Being able to design custom desserts gives us a personal connection to every couple and allows us to bring their vision to life.
What is the most common advice you give couples about selecting their wedding cake when you meet with them?
We love to remind our couples that they should choose flavors and designs that they love. They only get one day and the cake should highlight their personal style and favorite flavors.
What was your favorite wedding dessert trend of 2015?
Our favorite trends of 2015 were water color fondant cakes and naked style cakes. We also noticed a lot of brides asking for a dessert table with a large variety of small desserts.
If you could only eat one type of dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?
CHOCOLATE! Chocolate mousse, chocolate brownies, anything chocolate!
Can you describe the most unique wedding cake that you've ever designed for your clients?
Though it was a traditional design, we created a wedding cake last Spring that stands out in our minds. The cake was very colorful, including peacock blue, orange and peach colored gumpaste flowers and icing. The vivid colors created a very unique and original design.
What do you like to do when you are away from work?
Even though I am at Cake Stand every day, I still enjoy finding small bakeries and coffee shops to enjoy new treats. Traveling is always at the top on my list when I can find time!
