I've had the pleasure of photographing Betina's beautiful work when she styled Dan and Stephanie's reception florals at The Carriage House last year. Their tables were so elegant, with stunning pink rose and white hydrangea arrangements everywhere you looked. I love following her unique work on social media, and look forward to the next time that I get to see her work in person!
A little bit about Betina's at Parkview...
How did you get started in the floral business?
I have been in the business since I was 17 years old. I opened my first flower shop straight out of college when I was 21 in Denmark. I have had my own business in the United States since 2001.
What sets your company apart from other florists in the industry?
I am from Europe and was taught floristry design in a college in Denmark. So when I say that our studio is with a European flair, it's actually true.
What do you enjoy most about working with your clients on their wedding florals?
I love everything about weddings, but my favorite part is to show the sample of the centerpieces before the wedding. To see the smile on the bride's face as she sees her centerpiece for the first time - priceless!!!
From your perspective, what is the best piece of advice you often give brides when you meet with them to discuss their wedding flowers?
Make sure you get the "good and important" stuff, and then later we can add details... the guests usually only see the big picture.
What is a typical consultation with your company like?
It usually takes about an hour. We discuss everything that you need and I show you pictures and everything I have in the shop.
What do you like to do when you are away from your floral studio?
Spending time with my husband and golden retriever, Chanel.
