I always get excited when I see a familiar face come through with an inquiry about a wedding. I didn't know Katelyn too well growing up, even though we were always in the same homeroom classes with last names so close in the alphabet. We were both the shy, quiet type back then, but after I met up with Kate and her fiancé Bob at a local coffee shop, I could tell that's changed for both of us since high school. We chatted about our upcoming weddings, our love for Denver, and their incredible proposal story about the picture perfect moment when Bob asked Kate to marry him while they were traveling there this July.
They had already decided to book me for their 2016 wedding, but wanted to meet to chat about all of the details and plan their upcoming engagement session. The idea of shooting at the home of the Lakewood BlueClaws came up and I was totally game for a baseball themed engagement session! I always love when my clients come up with unique ideas and themes that are true to who they are and what they're into as a couple. We got approval from the great people at FirstEnergy Park to have the stadium all to ourselves one afternoon and we had a lot of fun exploring the field, dugouts and spent a few more minutes than necessary to master holding a diamond ring between two glasses. :)
We capped off their engagement session with some photos leading up to sunset at the Island Heights municipal dock, an area close to Kate and Bob's home that they visit often. I had such a great time with these two and can't wait for their wedding next September!
