Pamela braved the cold for her maternity photos earlier this year. I met up with Pam, her husband Rick and their first "child" Mimi on the beaches of Lavallette on a windy winter day in early February. We hung out on the beach for a little bit before hurrying back into our cars to take the session to her parents' home for some more intimate indoor photos. These two are welcoming a much-loved baby girl very soon, and I'm so excited for them!
I just love this little family! Ashley is one of my best friends ever, and I was so excited when they welcomed their little girl Reagan earlier this year. She's celebrating her very first Christmas tomorrow, and I just got to watch a video of her opening her gift from us... adorable! Earlier this month, we went out in search of a local tree farm to get a few shots before returning home to their own Christmas tree. The folks at Bullock Farms were kind enough to let us roam their baby trees, currently growing for next year's season, for a quick session. Even in the cold, Reagan was all smiles as usual!
From my family to yours... Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope your holidays are full of love and cheer!
If you follow my work, you'll definitely recognize these kids. I've been photographing them for almost two years now on a very frequent basis. I love repeat clients like the Colapietro's because I get to watch the kids grow and help them document the process (see Eliana's 6 month photos on the blog). As part of their latest session package, they decided to schedule one in the late fall for their 2015 holiday photos. The kids came dressed in coordinating red and gray outfits, and Eliana had her usual bow atop her head. :)
Here are some of my favorite shots from this session with these guys... I'm looking forward to work with them again in the future!
Once I met Mackenzie this October, I discovered that 4 years and 2 months is officially my favorite age to photograph. As you can see from the photos below, she has quite the personality, making her any photographer's dream! To make it even better, her parents were equally a pleasure to work with. We strolled through Double Trouble State Park at the peak of the colorful foliage, making the perfect backdrop for their fall family photos. We stopped midway through for one outfit change in which Mackenzie added her personal input. At 4 years old, she's already more stylish than me!
Take a peek into a little more from my time with the Pluta family, one of my favorite family sessions to date!
In early November, I traveled down some bumpy unpaved roads to a place in the middle of the woods where I was to meet up with Brody's mom for his first birthday session. Surrounded by nothing but trees and a deserted building with "No Trespassing" signs, I was positive I was at the wrong place before they arrived. But it turned out to be just what we needed, and a great new private spot to use for future sessions!
Brody's big brother Thomas joined us for the session too. When he wasn't playing with the trucks he brought along for the walk, I captured some candid moments with him and he even was my little helper when it was time to set up Brody's birthday cake. In exchange, we promised him one of the Oreos on top of the cake. As you can tell from the photos below, Brody was a little hesitant about the cake smash at first, but he quickly learned that the taste was well worth the mess and he dug right in without much help from us!
I had so much fun getting to catch up with Brody's mom, and interact with these guys that I don't see enough. We even followed the session with a visit to their horses at a nearby stable. Next time, I plan to come by before sunset so I can get some photos of them, and maybe even go for a ride if I get over my fear!
