Belmar Beach Maternity Session | Jessica

With all of the unpredictable weather we've been having lately, it is nice to look back on my recent maternity session with Jessica. We got the perfect sunny evening to shoot in Belmar, and the rough sand even gave us complementary foot massages as we walked along the beach. :)

Jess arrived with her husband Greg and a second outfit to change into midway through the shoot.  I loved her choice in outfits: one an oversized knit sweater, and the other a sheer pink long dress.  Jess wanted natural photos that captured the love that her and her husband have for one another and their baby girl who is due soon.  I think we accomplished that and more.

Monmouth County, NJ Spring Family Photos | Lamenia Family

Molly reached out to me a couple of months ago stating that she wanted some nice family photos before her upcoming winter wedding.  I met her, Frankie and their son Cole at my favorite Springtime location, Allaire State Park, on a late afternoon in May to capture some great family moments.  Cole was a little unsure about being photographed at first, but once we got to talking about karate and he schooled me on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I always mix them up!), we got him interested.  I wasn't going to leave the park until I got some portraits of him, because he's one of the cutest little three-year-olds I've ever seen.  We did give him a few breaks so mom and dad could get a few "engagement" style shots of their own though.

Molly and Frankie, I wish you both nothing but the best day ever, and I know Cole will perfect his role as ring bearer.  You know I'll be stalking social media for some sneak peeks from your wedding photos!!

Party Island Boating Family Session | The Rice Family

We did something a little different for my session with the Rice Family, and it was one of my favorite things... boating!  Dana had the idea, after we converted their mommy and me mini session to a full family summer session.  We boated out to "Party Island" (Sedge Island) near the Barnegat Inlet, where we let Caleb and their pup Harley (aka Beyonce) play around while mom and dad got photo-ready.  Caleb and I became instant BFF's.  We had a great time exploring the little plot of land with views of the Barnegat Lighthouse from every angle, and left for home as the sun began to set.  It was definitely a unique session and so much fun!

Barnegat Lighthouse Engagement Session | Kathy & Travis

I love it when I get to work with the same people over and over but in different roles.  It's an added bonus when they are super sweet and photogenic too!  I first met Kathy when she was a bridesmaid in Jackie and Ed's Water's Edge wedding almost 2 years ago.  One year later, she'd become a bride-to-be herself!  She found such a great match in Travis, who I finally got to meet at their wedding consultation last winter.  They brought along their furbaby Sawyer for their summer engagement session at the Barnegat Lighthouse.  They worried she would be difficult for the photos, but it turned out that Sawyer loved the attention!  She was a natural just like her parents. :)

We had the best weather as we wandered around the park, and the night ended with the most beautiful golden sunset over the Barnegat Bay!  I'm so excited for their big day next March!

Basking Ridge Country Club Bridal Shower | Melissa

I had the pleasure of documenting Melissa's pink and gold bridal shower at the Basking Ridge Country Club last month.  She knew the date and location for her shower, but all of the beautiful details were a surprise.   Her bridesmaids put together such a great afternoon filled with good company, food and lots of champagne to celebrate!  Her bridal party, all dressed in pink to fit the theme, hosted games that included the classic "What's in Your Purse?", and a toilet paper wedding dress contest set to fun music for a little fashion show.  These girls definitely know how to have a good time!  They're also very thoughtful too.  They put together a sweet basket of gifts for the bride-to-be that included something special for her to use each month for the next year.  It was such a nice touch that brought out a few tears at the end of the day.

Melissa is truly one of the sweetest girls I've ever met.  She was showered with so much love at her shower, and she was glowing with happiness the entire time.  Melissa and Bob are getting married tomorrow, so I wish them all the best in their future together as husband and wife.  Enjoy Greece you two!
